Kwara to spend N26.2bn on health, Agric

The Kwara State Government is to spend the sum of N26.2billion on the health and agricultural sectors in the 2017 fiscal year.

The proposed amount is contained in the 2017 budget proposal presented to the Kwara State House of Assembly by Governor Abdulfattah Ahmed recently. In the budget christened, ‘’Budget of Introspection and Sustenance”, the governor proposed to spend N135billion for the year, out of which N26,152,680,638 is to be expended on the health sector, while the agricultural sector will gulp N133million.

While presenting the budget, the governor had said, “As good health is a basic condition for the full utilization of available human resources, this administration will continue to provide effective and efficient health care service delivery to the citizens of the state.

“In this regard, government shall sustain the rehabilitation of health facilities so as to make healthcare more accessible to our people, especially in the rural communities.”
