Heath Workers in Kwara State under the auspices of Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN) appealed to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to ensure consistency in its monthly augmentation of allocations so as to actualized payment of salary of members across the 16 local government councils in the state.
This was contained in a letter of appeal cum appreciation sent to the governor, a copy of which was made available to The Point. Signed by the organizing secretary of the union, Comrade Murtala Afolabi, the union charged the state government to continue the augmentation like it did in August which made it possible for workers to receive full salary payment during Sallah festival.
It would be recalled that the August allocations of the 16 LGA’S in the state was augmented to the tune of N250 million by the state government to placate the health workers.
The Union implore the governor saying, ‘ Your Excellency sir, even though we are aware of the present economic recession in the country, the union still strongly believe in peaceful co-existence and dialogue.
“In conclusion sir, our union will be more grateful if you will continue to augment LG allocations so that our members will continue to receive full salary every month like their counterparts in other states.
