Governor Radda Dikko of Katsina State has outlined plans to transform the state’s economy by empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.

His administration aims to enhance skills development, expand access to finance, and improve infrastructure to stimulate business growth across the state.

Addressing participants at a forum organised in Abuja, Dikko stressed his administration’s dedication to creating a prosperous business climate to drive economic growth.

Dikko stated that this event goes beyond simply showcasing accomplishments.

“It is a chance to involve stakeholders, demonstrate our advancements, build partnerships, and gather important feedback for future growth.”

The governor emphasized the significance of establishing a conducive environment where businesses of all sizes, from small to medium, can prosper, be creative, and vie in the local and global markets.

Katsina believes that a strong MSME sector promotes inclusive growth, employment opportunities, and sustained prosperity.

Dikko mentioned that the goal is to create a space where all businesses can thrive and expand through a partnership between the public and private sectors.

He also highlighted several financial initiatives his administration has launched to boost small business financing.

Dikko noted that the state recently re-inaugurated the MSME Council to shape policies directly impacting the sector. His administration has also introduced Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operational manuals, job functions, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to streamline KASEDA’s operations.

In her welcome address, KASEDA’s Director General, Hajia Aisha Aminu, reflected on the agency’s progress in strengthening the MSME ecosystem.

She highlighted efforts to enhance access to finance, skills development, and market opportunities for small businesses in the state.

“Sustainable development requires collaboration. This roundtable serves as a platform to secure stakeholders’ support and foster new partnerships that will amplify our impact. By working together, we can accelerate the growth of MSMEs and drive inclusive economic development,” she said.

The Director General further emphasized the event’s objective of encouraging open dialogue and building synergies across sectors, noting that such collaborations would be essential for achieving Katsina’s vision of economic prosperity.
