One Adewale Taofeek has been reportedly found dead inside his girlfriend’s room at Danbare Quarters, along Gwarzo Road in Kano.
The incident was confirmed to our correspondent by the Kano State Police Command.
According to a resident of the area who spoke under the condition of anonymity, Adewale was a regular caller at the resident of his lover, Florence Ade.
The Public Relations Officer, Kano State Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who confirmed the incident, said, “On June 6, we received a distress call from Danbare Quarters.
“We dispatched our officers and men to the area. We found Adewale Toafeek inside the room of one Florence Ade, a single lady.
“He was lying naked and unconscious on a matress inside the room. He was rushed to Muritala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, Kano, where doctors confirmed that he was dead.”
Kiyawa added that the Commissioner of Police, Sumaila Diko, had directed that the case be transferred to the homicide section at the state Criminal Investigation Department Bompai, Kano, for further investigations.
