It was celebration galore for some members of St Charles Catholic Church, Enyiogugu Mbaise in Imo State, when the parish priest, Rev. Fr Ifeanyi Njoku, handed keys of new houses to some homeless members.

The cleric was said to have discovered that some indigent members of the church have been battling housing challenges.

Worried by their conditions, the priest, in the spirit of Christmas and New Year festivities, donated a new house he built for an indigent family in his parish.

After blessing the building, the clergyman handed the keys of the three bedroom bungalow over to one of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Jessica Odoemene, amid joy from family members.

Mrs. Odoemene is from Umuchoko Umueze Enyiogugu Mbaise in Imo State.

It was gathered that she had a challenge with shelter following the sudden death of her husband in an automobile accident.

After Njoku got to know of her plight, he swung into action immediately to alleviate the condition of the family.

He built a bungalow for the widow and her children from scratch to finish, blessed and handed over the keys to the family on January 9, 2025.

The Point gathered that Njoku had achieved a similar feat recently by building new homes for indigent members of his parish.

The cleric also built a house for his parish Catechist.

During the blessing of the recent home, Njoku thanked his friends who also contributed towards the projects.

He said their spiritual, moral and financial support have made the gestures reality.

The family members of the beneficiaries could not hide their joy as they profusely expressed their deep gratitude to God and to their parish priest for the gifts.
