Former Senate President in the Second Republic, Joseph Wayas, has died.
He died this morning in London, United Kingdom, at the age of 80 years.
He was the Senate President from 1979-1983.
He was born on May 21, 1941, in Basang Obudu, in Cross River State.
The late Wayas was deputy chairman of the 1994 national constitution conference that organised the national conference.
He is survived by children and grandchildren.
