Respected Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera has taken a swipe on Manchester United and made it clear that Victor Osimhen’s transfer fee in the event that he moves on to pastures new in the summer is definitely not above sixty million euros.
The media outlet said Napoli are overpricing the Nigerian striker amid speculation linking him with two rich Premier League clubs in Manchester United and Newcastle United.
Napoli has placed a hefty price tag on their record acquisition in an attempt to scare off the Premier League teams interested in his signature.
Napoli chief De Laurentiis won’t let the number nine be sold without a fight, hence he’s demanding an extremely expensive fee of one hundred million euros, 30m more than his cost when he signed from Lille in 2020.
On Osimhen, Corriere della Sera wrote: “His value is 60 million and remains today the same as it was two years ago, when he was taken over from Lille, but there are those from England who goes further to make sure.
“De Laurentiis raises: 100 million. Too much? It is certainly a strategy to lock the center forward of the future”.
This season, Osimhen has tallied eleven goals in 22 appearances across all competitions despite missing two months due to Covid and a facial injury.
