PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has refused to tell Nigerians when the ban on the operations of micro blogging and social networking service, Twitter, will be lifted in Nigeria.
The indefinite suspension of Twitter operations in Nigeria was announced last week by the Minister of information and Culture, Lai Mohammed.
The Federal Government said it based its action on alleged persistent use of the Twitter platform for activities that were capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence.
When asked during an the interview on Arise TV, when Nigerians should expect the ban to be lifted, the President simply said, “I will keep that to myself.”
Criticisms have however continued to trail the Government’s decision with the Peoples Democratic Party House of Representatives members insisting that they would continue to use Twitter and other forbidden platforms while daring FG to arrest them on behalf of Nigerians.
