- As Obi leads others in Delta State
Spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council, Mr Charles Aniagwu, on Monday, urged the general public to disregard reports of cancellation of Presidential Election results for Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta.
Aniagwu in a statement in Asaba, said the purported cancellation was a figment of the imaginations of the purveyors of the fake news.
He said the results for the Presidential election and National Assembly elections in the area have been duly accepted and declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC and the PDP won in the local government.
He urged the general public to disregard the said rumour which was a propaganda targeted at causing mischief in the area.
He said the PDP is doing well in the election and urged party faithful to remain hopeful as the results continue to trickle in.
Earlier reports had it that the presidential election result for Ika North East, the local government council of the vice presidential candidate of the PDP and governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, had been rejected due to an alleged over voting.
Meanwhile, the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi is leading the other three major political parties in the state as results continue to trickle in.
