Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho has been linked with a move to Italian club AS Roma as a replacement for former Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham.

Abraham got injured in Roma’s last league game against Spezia and is set to be out till December.

Jose Mourinho’s side still has the experienced Andrea Belotti to rely on but he was poor in front of goal last season having scored just three goals in all competition.

Paulo Dybala is another option but he is not an out-and-out striker which explains the need for a new center forward.

With Leicester City’s relegation to the English Championship, Iheanacho might be weighing his options.

This does raise the question of whether he should consider a move to Roma.

The 26-year-old old scored 5 goals and five assists last season for Leicester City in the Premier League despite starting eleven games which shows that he could be a good fit for the Rome-based club.

In Mourinho’s favoured 3-4-2-1 formation, he can play as a lone striker with Dybala and Lorenzo Pellegrini supporting him.

If he hits the ground running quickly, Abraham will find it difficult to displace him from the starting XI when he returns from injury.

More so, by moving to Roma, he gets to play in the Serie A which is one of the top five leagues in Europe and will also feature in a European competition as opposed to playing in the English Championship.

Lastly, by moving to the Italian giants, he gets to play under one of the best managers of his generation in Jose Mourinho who could help take his game to the next level.

Therefore, if the three-time Serie A champions step up their interest in him, the Manchester City academy product should consider moving there as he would be a perfect fit for the club.
