Justice Ladiran Akintola of Oyo State High Court has awarded N20 billion as damages against the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami, and Department of State Services in the suit filed by Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo (aka Sunday Igboho).
Justice Akintola also awarded N2 million as cost to the applicant.
The judge gave the order on Friday while delivering judgement in a N500 billion suit filed by Adeyemo against Malami and DSS over the invasion of his Ibadan residence, on July 1.
In the suit, Adeyemo, through his lawyer, Yomi Alliyu, had sought court orders declaring the invasion as a violation of his fundamental human right.
