One of Nigeria’s leading private airlines, Ibom Air, will resume flight operations to and from Enugu beginning on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
This follows the recent reopening of Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu State.
The airline disclosed this in a statement.
The Akwa Ibom State government-owned airline said it reached the decision after the issuance of an official Notice to Airmen on April 28, 2025, (Ref: A0126/25 NOTAMC A0125/25).
The airline said that the notice confirmed that Runway 08/26 at Enugu Airport has resumed normal operations.
The statement added, “Consequently, all scheduled Ibom Air flights to and from Enugu from May 4 onwards have been reinstated.
“Our Customer Service Team is actively reaching out to affected passengers to facilitate rebooking and alternative travel arrangements where necessary.”
The Federal Government had earlier announced the temporary closure of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu State.
The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Obiageli Orah, disclosed then in a statement that the airport was shut to allow urgent repairs on a damaged part of the runway.
