FORMER Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olabode George, has described the late former University of Lagos Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oye Ibidapo-Obe, as a good man who served with selfless dignity, defined purpose and truth.
George sympathised with the deceased family, saying he was his friend and brother “in accordance with Yoruba cosmology. “Oyewusi was brilliant as brilliant could be,” he noted.
“He was a mathematician, an engineer system analyst, a professional with bristling articulated intelligence,” George said.
“Oye was sociable, humble, gracious, full of love, instinctively good at heart, a scholar with comprehensive largeness. Oye will be missed where truth and wisdom are honoured,” he added.
George also sent his condolences to the students and staff of the University of Lagos, First Technical University, Ibadan, the Nigeria Universities Commission, as well as governments and people of Osun and Oyo states over the death of the professor.
“I also sympathise with the family and friends of the deceased and I pray that God will give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” he said.
