The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has issued a public apology to customers following widespread power disruptions across its service areas.
The outages, which affected several 11kV feeders, were attributed to a combination of forced outages, load shedding, earth faults, and disconnections due to non-payment.
This was outlined in a press release shared by IBEDC on its X account late on Saturday.
The company highlighted planned maintenance by the Transmission Company of Nigeria and unforeseen earth faults as significant contributors to the outages.
The statement also encouraged customers to promptly report faults and make payments to avoid further disruptions.
The release stated, “We sincerely apologise for our inability to deliver the estimated hours of supply on your feeder. This was due to TCN planned outages, TCN load shedding, IBEDC forced outages, load shedding, earth faults, and disconnection for non-payment.
“Please note that the feeders mentioned have been restored, except the Stadium 11kV feeder, which is still out due to disconnection for non-payment. We remain committed to supplying the estimated hours of supply.”
IBEDC also advised customers to contact their service centres or the customer care hotline in case of emergencies, rather than resorting to self-help to resolve issues.
