The Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has assured the people of Ebonyi State that under no guise would they be marginalised if he is voted as
president.
Atiku gave the assurance recently during the PDP presidential campaign rally held at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State
capital.
Acknowledging the efforts of Governor David Umahi for mobilising the mammoth crowd of supporters to the rally, he stressed that the interest of the zone would not be relegated to the background under his administration.
Saying that his wife, Dr Jenifer Atiku and his running mate, Dr Peter Obi, were of Igbo origins, the PDP presidential candidate advised the people of Ebonyi to ensure that they collect their Permanent Voter Cards and cast their votes right in the interest of the country.
He applauded Governor Umahi for the quality of road construction projects in the state, noting that it would last the test
of time.
Obi, the National Chairman of PDP, Chief Uche Secondus; and Senate President Bukola Saraki, assured the people of Ebonyi that votes for Atiku Abubakar were votes for an end to incessant ASUU strike, insecurity, poor health care and
unemployment.
They warned INEC to guide against the alleged plan by the ruling party to use foreigners from Chad to rig the coming elections in Nigeria.
Governor Umahi assured the presidential candidate and his entourage of massive support from Ebonyi State, being a
PDP state right from
1999.
