Unlike most Nigerian artistes who did not get married to their baby mamas, Don Jazzy’s brother, who is also a musician, D’Prince, says he plans to marry the mother of his child.
Born as Charles Enebeli, D’Prince says he’s in a relationship with the mother of his son and often travels to America to spend time with her.
“Of course, I plan to marry my baby mama. We are dating, we are in a relationship. But when I am set to get married, it will be private. I may even be married as I speak to you; you never can tell,” he says.
On why he took a break from the music scene, he discloses that he needed a quiet time to pay attention to his baby and his mother as well as do other things.
“I will not say I have been away as such. I had a child; so I travelled to check the mother and my child. It is over two years since I became a father. I have been recording an album, too. Though it is my second album, it feels like the first for me. To be frank, I actually needed a quiet time to work and it is actually telling on the music,” he says.
Being a father, he says, is a totally different experience, adding that it has actually changed his life. According to him, fatherhood is one of the reasons he can say he is in a better positon right now.
He says a lot of challenges came his way, but being able to overcome them made him feel fulfilled.
“The only scary thing about fatherhood, for a first-timer, is shock, a sudden change. I didn’t know what to expect. But my mother used to say that when you get to that bridge, you will cross it. And when I got to that bridge, it was a walk in the park,” D’Prince says.
