The once blissful seven years union of actress Mercy Aigbe-Gentry and Lagos based hotelier, Lanre Gentry, is under trouble.
The Point gathered from reliable source that the star actress had been silently enduring domestic violence for a long time in her marriage until lately.
The source said, “the couple had a fight last week that left the actress with serious injuries and she’s still receiving treatment in an hospital in Lagos.”
Pictures of a badly beaten Aigbe had surfaced online and social media networks, which further authenticated the marriage crisis.
Few hours ago, Mercy through her Instagram page, hinted on domestic violence, saying, “Say NO to DOMESTIC VIOLENCE…… Only a Coward hits a woman! REAL MEN don’t HIT!”
Her husband quickly responded with a post that reads, ‘Say No to the promiscuous and irresponsible women.”
A source also said that the mistress of Mercy’s husband, simply identified as Opemititi, allegedly caused the recent fight.
The founder of Women of Rubies, a non-governmental organisation that protects the interest of Women, Esther Ijewere, confirmed the crisis on Instagram.
She stated, “I am sorry you had to go through this but very happy I could be of help when you needed one in view of this situation. Nothing justifies domestic violence, nothing at all. May God comfort and heal you.”
