…It’s a lie, she plans to abscond with my son – Man

Wife of former Head of Service in Ogun State, Mrs Oluwatoyin Odulate, has dragged her husband, Chief Oladipo Odulate, before a customary court sitting in Ake, Abeokuta, for allegedly denying her access to their son, Oluwaseyi.

Mrs Oluwatoyin in a suit numbered Ik/281/18 told the court that she was no longer interested in her marriage with  Chief Oladipo as her only concern is to take care of her five-year-old son and keep him in her custody.

The estranged wife lamented that her seven-year-old union with the ex-Head of Service had been without peace and rest of mind.

She, therefore, urged the court to dissolve her marriage with the man for denying her access to her son even at school.

The woman seeks divorce on the grounds of threat to her life; lack of respect for her and her family; lack of love and care and molestation.

She alleged that the former Head of Service once beat her to the point of having miscarriage.

The mother of one accused her husband of having extra marital affairs with her son’s teacher whom she allegedly saw on Facebook cuddling Oluwaseyi as her own son.

She told the court to dissolve her marriage and grant her the custody of the child and stop her husband from  harassing her.

She said, “Chief Dipo has been denying me access to see my son, Oluwaseyi. I don’t even have access to see my son in his school because he has ordered the school security not to allow me to see him. I am not interested in this marriage and I want the court to grant me the custody of my child for me to take care of him.

“I want immediate dissolution of our seven-year-old marriage on the grounds of threat to life; lack of respect for me and my family; lack of love, uncaring attitude; beatings that led to miscarriage; molestation and fomenting trouble; harassment; adultery and no rest of mind.”

Chief Oladipo, who denied the allegation that he beat her wife to the point of having miscarriage told the court that he would never allow his estranged wife to have access to Oluwaseyi or grant her the custody of the child alleging that she had plot with her concubine to abscond with the child abroad.

Chief Oladipo in a letter dated October 31, 2017 written to the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service and titled ‘Attempt Of Processing The Nigeria Passport For Master Odulate Oluwakemi Oluwaseyi’ urged the Comptroller General to reject the application for passport for the boy.

The man, who said he was also no longer interested in the marriage, accused his wife of having extra marital affairs with Mr. Adenrele, to whom he alleged his wife got pregnant and had a baby girl.

Chief Oladipo alleged that his wife connived with his concubine to kill him through food  poisoning in 2017 but God saved his life.

He, therefore, vowed that he would not allow his son to stay with her concubine to avoid being killed by her new man.

He said, “There was no occasion or altercation that resulted in beatings. This is just an attempt to maliciously whip up unnecessary sympathy and sentiments.  Mrs Oluwatoyin Odulate never had any miscarriage while she was in our matrimonial home.

A letter written  by Chief Odulate to the Nigerian Immigration reads in parts, “I here wish to inform you that my estranged wife, Mrs Oluwatoyin Dolapo Odulate, of the Ogun State Health Management Board, Abeokuta, is processing the Nigeria International Passport in your Command  for my four-year-old (son) Master Odulate Oluwakemi Oluwaseyi, without my consent and attempts to take my son to an unknown country with her concubine for whom she also becomes pregnant despite our subsisting traditional marriage which has not been dissolved in any court of law.

“My estranged wife attempted to kill me through food poisoning in our matrimonial home in the guise of reconciliation move to return to our matrimonial home but God saved me. My son cannot live under the same roof where Mr. Adenrele, who had threatened to kill me, lives as he could mischievously poison my son secretly”.

The President of the Court, Mrs O. O Sam-Obaleye, adjourned the case to February 12 for further
hearing.
