An Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department in Zamfara State, Mr. Emmanuel Adeniyi, has been reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
Adeniyi was said to have been kidnapped while driving along Dandume/Birnin Gwari Road in Kaduna State on his way to Gusau, the Zamfara state capital.
Confirming the incident, the Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Shaba Alkali, told newsmen on the phone that though the abduction of the ACP occurred within Kaduna State, he was still waiting for authentic details concerning the matter.
Some weeks back, gunmen attacked police stations at Keta in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, kidnapping three officers.
