Unknown gunmen were reported to have on Thursday morning invaded Government Model College, Epe and abducted four students, one teacher and the school principal, creating panic within the Lagos metropolis.

Consequently, the House of Representatives has passed a resolution, calling on security agencies to ensure the rescue of the abducted persons.

This was just as two of the abducted students were said to have regained their freedom from the abductors.

The House resolution came after Wale Raji, the member representing the constituency, moved a motion under matters of urgent national importance.

Hon Raji told the House that he was informed of the abduction, which took place as the students were observing the early morning prayers in the assembly, and was therefore compelled to bring it to the attention of not only the House but entire Nigerians.

Lagos Police spokesman, Bisi Kolawole, told newsmen that two of the students have been freed, adding, “We’re still on their trail to rescue the others who include the principal, a teacher and two students.”
