Super Falcons and Washington Spirits forward, Ngozi Okobi, is confident that Nigeria will hold their own against either of Guinea or Senegal in the next round of the qualifiers for the 10th African Women Championship finals, which will be staged in Cameroon.

Reacting from her base in USA following the draw by the Confederation of African Football during the week, Okobi maintained that the Falcons were ready for any opposition. “Guinea or Senegal? I don’t think that any of them have the chance despite all that happened during the Olympic qualifiers and even the All African Games. This is just a team I believe has been built since 2014.

“I don’t think any team can come between the team right now. The only thing I believe the authorities can do is to fortify the team. Guinea and Senegal are not a threat to Nigeria,” Okobi suggested.

The Falcons, who claimed the top prize in the last edition of the competition in Namibia last year, were also continental queens in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2014.
