Groups in Abam Clan in Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency have endorsed Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, and the member representing the area in the House of Representatives, Hon Uko Nkole, for a second tenure in office.
The groups, which include the Federation of Abam Youths Students Association, Abam Youths and Abam Traditional Rulers Council in Arochukwu Local Government Area of the state, also vowed to protect their votes during the 2019 elections.
The groups adopted Ikpeazu and Nkole after the governor inaugurated the reconstruction of the collapsed Ndi Ebe Abam Bridge, which was attracted by the Federal lawmaker as his 2017 constituency project.
Proposing the motion for the endorsements at Nkole’s residence in Ozu Abam, Abam Youth Leader, Mr. John Kalu Irouwa, said there were rewards for their impacting positively on the lives of the people.
Inaugurating the project, Ikpeazu said the government shared the burden of the damaged bridge with the people of the clan, and commended Nkole for drawing the attention of the Federal Government to it.
He appealed to the contractors handling the project to insist on using the right materials and ensure its timely completion, adding that the government would provide them the enabling environment to deliver.
