The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, conducted an assessment of the community ravaged by flooding from the Oyan dam on Wednesday.
The Ogun State Governor disclosed this in a post on his official X handle on Wednesday.
His caption read, “We received emissaries today from our President, #officialABAT, namely the Minister of State on Environment, Dr. Ishaq Salako, and the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Mr. Joseph Terlumun.
“During an impromptu assessment of the community that has been ravaged by floods in the past few days resulting from the release of water from the Oyan Dam, we assured residents of flood-prone areas, particularly the Isheri North community in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, of a quick and permanent solution to the incessant flooding in the corridor by our President and result-oriented administration.
“The ministers assured us of their full support and the committee that has been put in place to ensure that the problem of flooding stops.
“We stated that developments on channels would be demolished so as to ensure free flow of water from the Ogun River into the Lagoon, and in addition, drainages would be cleared for free flow of water.”
