The German Agency for International Cooperation has organised a workshop for entrepreneurs in Ogun to sensitise them about business registration in the state.

The Advisor, Enabling Environment and State Office Coordinator, GIZ–SEDIN, Abeokuta, Mr. Steven Dada, said that the workshop would bridge the gap between the regulatory agencies and the business owners.

Dada lamented that the disconnect between the entrepreneurs and the agencies, including the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, the Corporate Affairs Commission and the state Ministry of Commerce and Industry posed threats to the registration of their businesses.

“We discovered that there is a disconnect between regulatory agencies and the business men and women themselves; that is why we are bridging the gap between them.

“We are also sensitising businessmen and women on the processes and procedure for registering their businesses. Is it NAFDAC, is it getting permit, is it the Standard Organization of Nigeria, because people are saying that the process and procedure are very cumbersome and too long.” he added

The coordinator, who called for the need to reform the regulatory sector, urged the business owners at the workshop to maintain a good relationship with the agencies.
