Manager Okan Buruk has provided an update on the future of Super Eagles star performer Victor Osimhen at Galatasaray.
The 25-year-old is on loan with the Turkish giants and there have been reports stating that his stay could be cut short with an exit in the January transfer window.
Chelsea are one of the teams being linked with the lanky forward after missing out on him last summer, having been priced out of a move for him.
The Blues have started the season in brilliant form, sitting joint-fourth in the Premier League standings and scoring 16 goals, the second-highest in the division.
Despite their form, the club are still being linked with a January move for the Napoli loanee, though Fabrizio Romano has stated that there is no discussion regarding it at the moment.
Speaking to reporters, Buruk ruled out the possibility of Osimhen leaving Galatasaray, stating that the Nigeria international was happy at the club.
“Osimhen said, ‘I will continue here, that is my thought’ since he came. He is very happy here. If he was unhappy, if there was someone who said ‘I came here, why am I here’, it could happen.
“I don’t know the transfer conditions. The player’s desire is the main thing here. If the player wants, such a situation can happen.
“But when the player comes here, he thinks ‘I will not leave here, even if there is a clause, I will stay here’.”
Osimhen’s deal with the Turkish giants’ contains a clause which allows him to leave in January, thus the reason behind reports linking him with an exit.
With six goal involvements in his first four games, he has had a brilliant start to the season but recently sustained an injury though he is on the verge of recovery.
