No fewer than four pedestrians were on Monday killed in a multiple auto crash at Ajegunle in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Five others also sustained serious injuries in the accident which occurred when a truck which suddenly lost its brake collided with another articulated vehicle and car, crushing the victims in the process.
The Public Relations Officer of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the occurrence of the accident.
According to Akinbiyi, the multiple accident involved a MAN Diesel truck with registration number (LAGOS) GGE 834 XM, a MARK truck with registration number (LAGOS) LSR 930 XH and a Mazda “626” car marked (LAGOS) KSF 726 CD.
Akinbiyi said the auto crashcaught the victims, who were walking along the road at the Ajegunle area of Sagamu unawares.
The TRACE spokesman added that the corpses of the four victims had been deposited at the mortuary of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, while the injured persons were also being treated in the same hospital.
