A former Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi (retd.), is dead.
He was said to have passed on after a brief illness in the early hours of Sunday.
Ogohi was the Chief of Defence Staff between 1999 and 2003.
The Director of Information, Nigerian Navy, Commodore Adams-Aliu confirmed the news to journalists.
Also, the Director Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau confirmed the development on Sunday.
He said, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. With deep sorrow, I announce the death of Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi (retd.), a former Chief of Defence Staff (1999-2003).
“He passed on in Abuja in the early hours of today. More details will be communicated later.”
