Firm moves to build affordable homes to address housing deficit in Osun

A firm, Fortisia Homes, has flagged-off the construction of affordable homes in Osun State with a view to tackling housing deficit in the state.

Speaking at the unveiling of the large expanse of land christened ‘Veridian Estate’, the Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of Fortisia Homes, developer of Veridian Estate, Oludare Junaid, said the effort is to improve the living conditions of the people of Osun.

Addressing guest before the symbolic turning of sod and foundation laying at Egebedi community, very close to Osogbo, Junaid said the step was to proffer solutions to the huge gap in residents experiencing luxurious living at cheaper rates.

He said, “We are redefining apartment living in Osun State. Over the years, there has been a huge gap in terms of experiencing very luxurious living experiences in Osun State, and we figured out that a lot of us in diaspora who live in Lagos and Abuja want to take the experience that we have in these big cities back to Osun State,

“That is why we are launching our Veridian Estate, There is a deficit in Nigeria and all over the world and as our population is growing, there is an increased need for housing. We want to improve the standard of living in Osun.

“We are creating massive employment opportunities for Osun indigenes. The eco system of development is huge and it requires a lot of manpower and many people will be meaningfully engaged here.

“Developing units of luxurious apartment building where people can come, own and live in is our own way of making impacts to the economy of the state. We are starting with 27 units of three bedroom detached and semi-detached apartments.

Bukola Onifade, the Special Adviser to Osun Governor on Boundary Matters who doubles as the legal Adviser to the firm, lauded the initiative and said it would fastrack development of the state.

Similarly, in her remarks, Ayobola Awolowo, Osun Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Welfare, commended the initiative and urged the firm to be considerate about the payment plan.

Samuel Olakorede, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Fortisia Homes, reiterated efforts at solving housing deficit in Nigeria through provision of quality and premium houses that people see in bigger cities, adding that the prices are affordable and could be paid on instalments.
