THE Federal Government has said the ban on the operations of micro blogging platform, Twitter, will be lifted very soon.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, who disclosed this, said the ban would be “lifted in a matter of days”.
He spoke after the virtual Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.
The Minister indicated that most of the conditions given to Twitter had been accepted by the platform.
Other pending areas such as the demand that Twitter should set up an office that would be manned by management cadre staff in the country are still being discussed, according to him.
The minister said though Twitter had agreed to setting up a Nigerian office, it maintained that this could not be done until 2022.
