THE Federal Government has re-introduced a nationwide 12am to 4am curfew to contain further spread of COVID-19.

This is coming about 48 hours to the public holiday declared to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitri.

This development was disclosed by the National Incident Manager, Mukhtar Mohammed, in Abuja on Monday, during the briefing of the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 in Abuja.

Mohammed said the curfew would take effect from midnight on Monday, adding that night clubs, gyms and other recreational centres would remain closed till further notice.

Gatherings of religious groups and weddings, among others, have again been reduced to 50 per cent attendance.

Official engagements, meetings and conferences should continue to hold virtually, the FG said.
