FG postpones stakeholders forum on terrorism bill

The Federal Government has postponed the proposed stakeholders Validation Forum on the Draft Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Bill 2016 earlier scheduled for Thursday, September 15, 2016 in Abuja.
The forum, which was postponed on the auspices of the Attorney of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, is to give room for stakeholders to forward comments on the bill before it will be convened.
In a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Attorney of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, Salihu Othman Isah, the Director, Legal Drafting, Federal Ministry of Justice, Mr. H.A. Tahir was quoted as saying that the stakeholders’ forum was put on hold by the Minister to give more time to stakeholders to forward comments on the bill.
The proposed Stakeholders Validation Forum was scheduled to hold on Thursday at the Olusegun Obasanjo Hall, Federal Ministry of Justice, Abuja, by 11.00am.

According to Tahir, a new date for the forum will be announced in due course.
