THE Federal government has extended the Eidel Fitri public holiday by a day. With the extension, work will resume on Friday, 8th July, 2016.
A release today by the Ministry of Interior, signed by its Permanent Secretary, Bassey Okon Akpanyung, said that the decision to extend the holiday was informed by the extension of the Ramadan fast by the President General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Saad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, as stakeholders are yet to sight the moon, which indicates end of Ramadan fast.
