The Federal Executive Council has approved a contract for the rehabilitation of the Ikorodu-Sagamu Road, which links Lagos State to Ogun State.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, disclosed this to State House correspondents at the end of the council’s meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Mohammed put the cost of the rehabilitation contract at N2billion.
He said the rehabilitation would reduce accidents and travel time on the road.
The minister said, “The significance of the award of this contract is that it will reduce road accidents and loss of lives. Of course, it will reduce travel time and operating cost for transporters and commuters, and more importantly, it will enhance the movement of petroleum and agricultural products and also
facilitate other commercial activities.
