…directs commissioners to hand over to Perm Secs
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayo Fayose, on Sunday announced an immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council and ordered all former commissioners to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries of their respective ministries.
Fayose in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, thanked the former commissioners for their services to the state and wished them well in their future endeavours.
The governor did not state any reason for taking such a major decision. However, there are speculations that the decision to dissolve the cabinet may not be unconnected with political events in the state ahead of the 2018 gubernatorial poll.
Governor Fayose kick-started a continuity political agenda several months ago.
Some said in some quarters that dissolving the cabinet might have to do with allowing those in his government to fully prepare for the coming poll, while others speculated that it might be connected with alleged political machinations by the opposition to penetrate Fayose’s government ahead of 2018.
The governor has also alleged that the Federal Government was after his government for being the loudest opposition voice against it
