THE State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State has called on those who signed a release announcing the suspension of the Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, from the party to confirm their signatures as contained in the publication on or before the close of work today, Friday.

In a release signed by Omotosho Paul on behalf of State Executive Committee of the Ekiti APC, the party said, “The attention of the Ekiti State All Progressives Congress State Executive Committee has been drawn to the publication which is in circulation in the social media, titled, ‘Re: Dr. Kayode Fayemi Anti-Party Activities’ purportedly signed by the following people: Senator Tony Adeniyi; Senator Babafemi Ojudu; Senator Dayo Adeyeye; Congressman Bimbo Daramola; Hon. Robinson Ajiboye; Hon. Oye Ojo; Hon. Dr. Adewale Ominrin and Hon. Femi Adeleye.”

“We hereby call for the confirmation or denial of the said publication by the purported signatories between now and the close of work today, September 25, 2020.”

Recall that a group, which addressed itself as “Statutory members of the Ekiti State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress” had, earlier, on Friday, said it had suspended Fayemi from APC.

The Point had reported that the members announced the governor’s suspension barely 24 hours after a statement by the party suspending the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, and 10 others.

The SEC members said in a statement on Friday that Fayemi was suspended as a result of what they described as “his numerous anti-party activities, especially his role in the recently concluded governorship election in Edo State, which is contrary to the provisions of Article 21 (A) (ii) of the APC Constitution.”

They also alleged that the Ekiti Governor hosted former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, of the Peoples Democratic Party, five days before the Edo State election to work against the APC candidate, among others.
