The Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, has commended Governor Abdul Aziz Yari of Zamfara State for executing people-oriented projects that have direct bearing with the lives of the common man.
The minister, who was in the state to commission some projects executed by the state government to mark its sixth-year anniversary, stated that Governor Yari was among the performing governors in the country, considering the number of projects he executed in the last six years.
Fashola particularly scored Governor Yari high on road construction, stressing that, Zamfara State was now open for socio-economic activities due to a number of roads executed by the current administration.
He cited an example of the federal roads in the state that were hitherto dilapidated but now repaired and put in good shape by the governor.
The projects commissioned in the state by Fashola included the electrification projects at Tsamiya, Rakuma, Garguwa, Adarawa and Rafin Dankure as well as the water works at Garbadu and Mure.
