In less than 48 hours, four persons were gunned down in Ado-Ekiti, capital of Ekiti State by some rampaging assailants.
This ugly development has thrown residents of the capital city into intense panic.
On Thursday morning, A Point of Sale operator identified as Alfa was shut around Specialist Hospital, Ado Ekiti while the unidentified gunmen made away with the victim’s undisclosed amount of money and other valuables.
Few hours later on the same day, another person was shot dead at Oja Bisi in Ado-Ekiti.
The deceased was a rice hawker who was shot on the head.
In a related development, some hours after the rice hawker was killed, another PoS operator was gunned down in Idemo area.
Investigation by The Point revealed that the three aforementioned victims of these suspected assassination attacks were killed in the same pattern a ticket fee collector of the Commercial Motorcycle Riders Association in the state was shot dead on Tuesday at Oke-Isa area of Ado-Ekiti.
The perpetrators were said to be on motor bikes with their faces covered with black cloth.
The tragic incidents have caused fear and confusion in Ado-Ekiti as shop owners hurriedly closed their businesses while commercial motorcycle riders and motorists were seen rushing home for safety.
Residents have called on police authority and other security agencies to urgently swing into action and secure Ekiti State.
