In a wave of change in the world’s economy, Erisco Foods Nigeria has broadened its home-made manufactured products using locally sourced materials to support Nigerian farmers towards sustainable growth of the agricultural sector.

The company has introduced three innovative products into the Nigerian market. The products include the new improved natural Erisco, Ric-giko and Nagiko brands of tomato paste, Nagiko 3in1 Garri mix (first of its kind) and Erisco milk cubes.

The President/Chief Executive Officer, Chief Eric Umeofia, Erisco Foods Nigeria, has therefore called on Nigerians to always patronise ‘made-in-Nigeria’ products to grow the
economy.

He said, “The new improved natural Erisco, Ric-giko and Nagiko brand of tomato paste that is wholly made in Nigeria were creatively designed and produced to curb the incessant health challenges experienced by Nigerians as a result of the consumption of sub-standard tomato paste imported into the country from
China.”

Umeofia also advised farmers on the industrial use of their farm
products.

“It is disheartening to know that Nigeria is the biggest importer of tomato paste in the world whereas over 75 per cent of our locally harvested fresh tomatoes get wasted in the hands of our farmers annually due to lack of industrial usage, but Erisco Foods Limited has come to stem the tide by taking the tomatoes off the farmers and converting same into tomato paste,” he
said.

He added that, “the Nagiko 3in1 Garri Mix is the ‘first of its kind’ as Erisco Foods Limited is the first company to produce this whole on-the-move meal. The product is a mixture of Ijebu garri, sugar and milk which was developed to provide a balanced whole meal to Nigerians and the products are healthy, produced in the most hygienic environment and affordable per pack.
Erisco milk cubes are designed to nourish and sharpen the brains of Nigerians to make them even more productive.”
