Fans of Enyimba International Football Club of Aba may have something to cheer about as they host visiting Rangers International FC of Enugu in a Nigeria Professional Football League duel.

Football pundits have described the proposed duel as a battle of wits, as both sides are known to each other. The match is expected to draw out fans from the East, as the two teams are traditional rivals as far as local league is concerned.

Enyimba is still basking in the euphoria of last Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Rivers United, and they are in top shape to face any opposition in their subsequent matches.

Enyimba pipped Rivers United to improve their position in the NPFL standings.

Meanwhile, Rangers FC, the NPFL defending champion are not sitting pretty and they still have many rivers to cross this season.

Apart from surviving the elite league, Rangers are working tirelessly to make good impact in the CAF Confederation Cup, after crashing out of the CAF Champions League.

But Rangers Chief Executive Officer, Christian Chukwu, is optimistic that his side would scale through all the outstanding hurdles. Katsina United last Sunday added to Enugu Rangers’ woes with a 1-0 victory at the Mohammodou Dikko Stadium.
