GOVERNOR David Umahi of Ebonyi State has inaugurated a committee on #EndSARS Seminar with a charge to develop the right template for the success of the programme.
The Governor, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Kelechi Igwe, explained that the Committee had become necessary to reorientate the youths and direct their minds towards contributing to the development of the country.
He said every Ebonyi youth was qualified to participate in the seminar and urged the Committee, in addition to developing the right organisational structure for the seminar, to also engage seasoned resource persons.
He expressed the optimism that the seminar would offer participants the opportunity to be critical about what should be done to promote peace in the country.
The State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Cletus Ofoke, said the seminar was a Federal Government initiative to address some of the issues raised by EndSARS protesters last year, which he said would also fashion out ways to forestall future occurrence.
In an acceptance speech on behalf of others, the Chairman of the committee and Commissioner for Inter-Governmental Affairs, Eze Nwachukwu, assured that they would put in their best to make the programme a success, bearing in mind that the seminar would help to give the country a new direction.
