SOME members of the #EndSARS movement in Osun State have alleged that some youths have been contracted by the state government to join their demonstrations in order to make their agitations fruitless.

The youths therefore called on “serious-minded and well meaning youths to brace for massive public-driven demonstrations that would bring about a new era in the Nigerian system of government.

A statement issued and signed by the spokeperson of the #EndSARS movement in Osun State, Olawale Adebayo Bakare; Mobilisation Secretary, Ogunleye Olushayo;
and Organising Secretary, Olawale Ogunruku, on Monday, asked members of the public to watch out for some “contract-protestors who are only acting the scripts of their paymasters.”

Recall that on Monday morning, a group of youths held protests in Osogbo where they demanded for an end to bad governance, and the Osun State Panel of Judicial Inquiry set up by the state government.

The statement read, “It has been brought to our attention that some body of youths in Osogbo protested against police brutality and other inadequacies of the present day government. The #EndSARS Movement Osun State, wishes to say a very big revolutionary kudos to the actors of today’s outing and greatly commend the peaceful dimensions of the processions.

“Although, we expressly commend the line of demands of today’s protest, we also wish to inform the general public to beware of state sponsored individuals who might be sent to keep public agitations low and tasteless as they would only pretend fighting alongside the genuine agitators but secretly working with the government to keep the people’s voice low and divided. We enjoin the general public to watch out for ‘contract-protestors’ who are only acting the scripts of their paymasters.

“Again, we would like to reiterate that the entire #EndSARS Movement, Osun State, would always give support and solidarity to echt protesters who wish to project the revolutionary agenda of our great Movement. We stand solidly behind any group of persons who are genuinely ready to fight for the collective emancipation and liberation of Nigerian people in general.

“We use this medium to call on all serious-minded and well meaning youths in Osun to prepare for massive actions that will include the rank and file of all oppressed and cheated people of Osun State and Nigeria states at large.

“All Nigerians, male and female old and young, civil servants and informal workers etc, are hereby invited to lend their voices by participating in the massive protest that would be launched soonest. The date and time of our peaceful protest shall be communicated in later days.

“We hereby enjoin our comrades to remain peaceful, and continue mobilising by building revolutionary forces across the entire State of Osun. The time to liberate ourselves from the shackles of corruption, oppression, bad governance, economic and political slavery is now. And no one can stop an idea whose time as come.”
