Following the attack on Television Continental (TVC) on Wednesday morning, the staff of Channels TV have also left their office premises for safety.

Our correspondent gathered that there had been hints that after TVC, Channels was the next on the target list by the hoodlums.

This made the station suspend its activities abruptly.

Security has been beefed up at the Isheri Community gate to prevent attack by hoodlums in the area.

The Channels headquarters is located at Channels Avenue, OPIC area of Lagos/Ogun.

The Point had reported that a Channels TV reporter, Ayo Makinde, was, on Wednesday morning attacked, shortly after giving an account of happenings in the Ketu area of Lagos on live TV.

Makinde had said there was shooting in the residential area and pointed the Channels TV achors’ attention to a thick smoke coming from the Television Continental’s premises.

According to him, a man had been shot as of the time he was reporting.

Just after he gave his report, Channels TV showed a clip where he was being attacked on the spot.

Those responsible for the attack and why they did, had not been identified as of the time of filing this report.

TVC had also been set of fire earlier in the morning by irate youths.
