“You did convert to your own use, the sum of forty four million naira (N44, 000,000:00k), property of one Egbhobamien Tina and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.II Laws of Osun State, 2002.”
Attempts by the defence counsel, Kehinde Adepoju to move the court in granting the accused bail failed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police, O. Mustapha, who is prosecuting the matter, objected to the bail application.
Chief Magistrate Ayilara ordered that the defendant be remanded in Ilesa Correctional Centre and adjourned the matter till February 18 for mention.
He asked the defence counsel to approach the court with a formal application for bail.
