The management of Enugu Rangers has commenced the search for a new coach, capable of rescuing the team from impending relegation in the NPFL. Rangers management, headed by former Green Eagles skipper, Christian Chukwu, had to fire Imama Amapakabo a few hours after the Nigeria’s reigning champions were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Zesco United of Zambia in the first leg playoffs round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The club management met shortly after the underwhelming home draw to review the immediate and the remote causes of their disastrous campaign in the league and they took the decision to help the club from total collapse.

Rangers have been trying to manage their crisis since they won the local league last season but failed to find their bearing before the continental outing.

The Enugu side could not defend the league title as they are struggling at the bottom of the league. They also crashed out of the CAF Champions League.
