THE Director-General of the Edo State All Progressives Congress Campaign Council for the 2020 governorship election, Gen. Cecil Esekhaigbe (retd), has congratulated the APC and its governorship candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, for the successful Local Government campaign rally held across the three senatorial districts in Edo State.
In a telephone interview with The Point’s correspondent on Monday, Esekhaigbe asserted that the massive crowds that besieged the venues of the APC local government rallies and the sporadic jubilations that heralded the arrival of the campaign train in all the local government areas of Edo State, were proofs that the APC was the most popular party and that POI was the most widely acceptable candidate, in the forthcoming Edo election.
According to the DG, the local government rally that was held in the three senatorial districts, brought together a mammoth crowd of Edo people, and as such, gave the opportunity to the governorship candidate of APC, Ize-Iyamu, to dissect his SIMPLE agenda manifesto to the simple understanding of everyone.
He said, “No doubt, POI is a political brand and has become a Movement! This was visible to the blind and audible to the deaf, during the LGA’s campaign rally held across the length and breadth of Edo State. With the combination of the duo, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the former governor and immediate past National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, APC is certainly unbeatable in the September 19 governorship election.
“Let me sieze this opportunity to deliver the message, the vast majority of the people of Esanland has instructed me to give to our governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and the leadership of our great party. The people of Esanland said that, they’ve given a RED CARD to Gov Obaseki and PDP in Esanland!”
He added, “They said they’ve resolved not to be bamboozled by a phantom diluted ‘Esan Agenda’ mantra, that was coined by Gov Obaseki, which is cunningly and mischievously crafted to extort votes from Esanland!”
“Esan people are not fools, neither are they daft! Esan people are intelligentsias and extremely smart. Esan people know better and believe that it is only Pastor Ize-Iyamu that is capable of handing over power to Esanland.”
The DG also used the opportunity to congratulate and thank APC numerous avid supporters and sympathisers in particular, and the vast majority of Edo people in general, for entrusting their faith in the great party. He reassured them that the POI administration would meet the yearnings of all Edolites, both at home and in the Diaspora.
