The crisis between Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy, Philip Shaibu may have worsened with the alleged planned impeachment of Shaibu by the State House of Assembly.
It was learnt that the impeachment process might begin on Wednesday (today)
The House is expected to sit at about 11:30am today.
The House had reportedly made arrangements to have the session broadcast live.
One of the lawmakers hinted that the state government allegedly paid the Nigerian Television Authority for live coverage of Shaibu’s planned impeachment and eventual removal.
He also said that 22 lawmakers out of the 24 had signed the impeachment notice, after allegedly collecting the cash sum of N15m each.
