FORMER Deputy Governor of Edo State and Chairman Nominee of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Pius Odubu, has enjoined all members of the All Progressives Congress in Edo State, as well as his teeming supporters to commit themselves, 100 per cent, to ensure that APC not only retains Edo State, but does so with landslide victory in the September 19 Governorship poll.
He made the statement while receiving APC leaders from Igbanke East and West Wards of Orhionmwon LGA, who paid him a visit to commiserate with him on the death and final burial of his late father, former Okaevbo of Urhumehe, Pa Manson Odubu.
The statesman and second runner up in the APC gubernatorial primary, said it was the only way to sustain the developmental strides initiated by the former administration of Adams Oshiomhole and himself.
He reminded the APC leaders that the road, which they passed to his house from Abavo in Delta State, was constructed by their administration under the APC and that the current administration had failed the people of Edo State and Orhionmwon people in their various campaign promises.
He said the Benin Abraka road, which this administration promised to construct was now a mirage and that the only way to get that road constructed and other projects in the state running was to ensure a landslide victory for the APC in the state come September 19.
Odubu said his father was a traditional ruler and that his burial rights were lengthy, and assured members of the APC that he would join the campaign in full force once his father’s burial rites were over this week.
