Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, has broken his silence on the forthcoming election in Edo State, saying that the defeat of Governor Godwin Obaseki will be authenticated on September 19.
Oshiomhole had been very quiet since he was removed as the National Chairman of the ruling party.
But, on Sunday, he declared war on Obaseki and the Peoples Democratic Party on Twitter.
Oshiomhole said he had only one mission, which was to remove Obaseki and bring Edo back to the path of Sustainable Development.
“I have only one mission and I know it is our common mission to bring Edo back to the path of Sustainable Development,” he tweeted.
He said one with God was majority and that “keeping calm is not always an act of cowardice.”
Oshiomhole added that Obaseki had been busy all the while, selling propaganda, while the APC governorship candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, was selling his agenda, adding that the future of Edo must be salvaged now.
“While Pastor Ize Iyamu is busy selling his Simple Agenda, letting people know his plans for Edo State, Obaseki is busy selling propaganda because he has no Agenda to sell; he never had any at any time. The Future Is Now,” he said.
Oshiomhole lamented that the fact that Obaseki was destroying his opponent’s campaign posters was already a sign of acceptance of defeat before the election.
“Destroying your opponent’s campaign posters is a sign of accepting defeat already even before the election. The defeat of the PDP candidate, Obaseki in Edo State will be authenticated come September 19,” he said.
Oshiomhole, on Saturday night, arrived Edo State amid much fanfare and jubilation.
The former National Chairman of the APC announced to the mammoth crowd that he was back for a single mission.
Addressing the crowd, he said, “I am back and ready for the job. Now the snake that entered our family home, God has taken the snake out of our home and to where he belongs. I have come home to join you and start the process of reclaiming the house back to the family of APC.
“I want to assure you that I dey Kampe. What gives me Joy, as they say, one with God is the majority. And if the people say yes and God says yes, there is no man born of a woman that can say No. When I became the governor of this state, I wasn’t any chairman of anything I had left the presidency of the NLC.
“So now, I have only one mission and I know it is our common mission to bring Edo back to the path of sustainable development. Now, we want to bring back the era of the red roof. We want to bring back roads with drainage. We want to bring back those lovely days when we engage our youths and we mix-up with the elderlies.
“We want to return to the government of the people by the people and for the people.”
