Easter: NSCDC deploys 1,600 personnel to guarantee hitch-free celebration in Osun

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Osun State Command has assured the people of the state of adequate security measures to ensure a peaceful Easter celebration.

According to the State Commandant, Igbalawole Sotiyo, 1,600 personnel have been deployed to strategic locations across the state, such as markets, worship centres, recreational centres, public places, stressing that the command will be providing adequate security for lives and property.

A statement by Kehinde Adeleke, the command’s Public Relations Officer, on Thursday, read, ‘’This deployment is aimed at preventing any potential security breaches and ensuring that the good people of Osun State can celebrate the Easter without any disruptions”

‘’NSCDC Osun State Command is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all during and after Easter celebrations. We urge everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest NSCDC office or other security agencies.”

Sotiyo stated further that directive has been given to all Area Commanders and Divisional Officers across the state, to maintain a high level of alertness and ensure public safety before, during and after the celebration.
He also appealed to the people of the state to cooperate with security personnel and report any security concerns to security agencies, saying “together, we can ensure a peaceful and enjoyable Easter celebration for all.”

He also called on Christian faithful to practise all the good teachings the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has taught them while calling on those who intend to travel for the celebration to avoid overspeeding and night travels, wishing all Christian faithful a joyous and peaceful Easter celebration.
