Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon, is going nowhere as he enters the final 12 months of his contract with Gent. The Belgian First Division A club are desperate to sell him before the close of the summer transfer window in order to recoup their previous investment on the player as speculation to a possible move to English Premier League side Liverpool and German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are no longer feasible.

It is understood that the winger was offered to Liverpool but the Reds management, including manager Jurgen Klopp, vetoed the proposed move, saying he’s not their kind of player.

As for Wolfsburg, the German Bundesliga outfit was approached but did not want to sign him when he was really doing well at Gent and nothing has changed.

Simon would have used the 2018 World Cup as an opportunity to impress prospective suitors, but, he was axed from the Super Eagles roster just before their trip to Austria for a training camp due to injury.

Last season, there was nothing to write home about his performances for Gent, having contributed to nine goals ( 6 goals, 3 assists) over the course of the campaign, whereas he was directly involved in 28 goals for his clubs during the 2014-15 season.

Meanwhile, Faustino Anjorin, who is regarded as Nigeria’s most promising teenager at Premier League side Chelsea, has penned a new contract with The Blues.

The attacking midfielder has penned a scholarship deal with effect from July 2018, ten years after he joined the club.

Having risen through the ranks, Anjorin made his competitive debut for Chelsea U18s in their 2-0 win at Aston Villa on Week One of last season’s U18 Premier League and provided the assist for the opening goal scored by Charlie Brown.

Writing on Instagram, Anjorin said : ”Happy to sign my first contract for @chelseafc after being at the club since the age of 6 looking forward to what next season brings”.

The 16-year-old Anjorin made his UEFA Youth League debut against Atlético Madrid and also caught the eye in the FA Youth Cup and U18 Premier League Cup last
season.

Despite struggling with injury, the Young Lions number ten made three appearances for England at the 2018 European U17 Championship.
